LRF & Ajing
Advanced Techniques

Level 3

Small Changes. Big Differences.

You already know how to control your jighead, work a soft bait and recognise bites.

Now it's time to understand the details that separate a basic presentation from an effective one.

Learn how line choice, ultra-light weights, wind, current, light conditions and presentation control affect your fishing. Discover how to make small adjustments that help you stay in contact with your lure, understand what's happening underwater and adapt when conditions change.

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN

FEEL

Understand why ester lines are widely used in specialised Ajing, how they differ from PE braid, and when their sensitivity and low stretch can make a difference.

GO LIGHTER

Learn when to reduce jighead weight, how lighter presentations affect the fall, and how to maintain control without losing contact with your lure.

ADAPT

Discover how wind, current and line tension influence your presentation. Learn to recognise when to change your angle, weight or retrieve.

REFINE

Develop a more precise approach to slack line, controlled falls, subtle rod-tip movements and maintaining contact with your jighead.

YOUR LEARNING PATH

01

ESTER LINES

Learn how ester behaves, what makes it different from PE braid, and how to choose the right line for your style of Ajing.

02

ULTRA-LIGHT WEIGHTS

Understand the advantages and limitations of very light jigheads, and how to balance lure fall, control and sensitivity.

03

WIND & CURRENT

Learn how environmental conditions affect line behaviour and lure control, and how to adapt your setup and fishing angle.

04

DAY VS NIGHT

Explore how to adjust your approach to different light conditions and use observation to guide your decisions.

05

PRESENTATION CONTROL

Improve your control of the lure through the fall and retrieve, learning to manage slack line and subtle movements.

06

FINE-TUNING YOUR SETUP

Understand how line, rod, reel and jighead weight work together. Learn to identify when a change in one component can improve the balance of your setup.

07

PUTTING IT INTO PRACTICE

Bring the lessons together and build a repeatable process for assessing conditions, selecting your setup and making informed adjustments during a session.

BY  THE END OF THIS LEVEL YOU'LL BE ABLE TO:

✔ Understand when ester may be more suitable than PE braid.

✔ Choose lighter jighead weights with a clear purpose.

✔ Adapt your approach to wind and current.

✔ Recognise how light conditions can influence your strategy.

✔ Maintain better contact with your lure during the fall and retrieve.

✔ Fine-tune your tackle as a balanced system.

✔ Make more informed adjustments instead of changing things at random.

THE MAIN IDEA OF LEVEL 3

Small Adjustments. Better Decisions.

In ultralight fishing, small details matter.

A slight change in jighead weight, line tension or fishing angle can alter how your lure falls and how clearly you feel what's happening underwater.

The goal isn't to make every setup lighter or more complicated. It's to understand why you make each adjustment, when it helps, and when it doesn't.
